Top 15 Canvases and Cards of 2015

Hi! Today is the last day of my recap of 2015. Thanks so much for joining me! I've shared my top layouts, albums, arches and artist trading cards over the last two days. Something new for me this year is the large number of canvases I created. The majority of this post is full of them! I really loved expressing myself in this form and will definitely create more in the year to come. I also snuck some of my favorite cards into this post. I don't create a lot of cards, but am sharing those that I couldn't bear to part with this year. Follow the links to view the full posts.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! My goal for the new year is to finish 3 December Daily albums from past years. (You may have noticed that I didn't try to tackle one this month!) I also want to dig into my Project Life stash. This goal is being carried over from last year. I purchased a ton of Project Life supplies, which included a kit club subscription, and haven't touched any of it! I'm also doing the 52 Lists project.

I created a fair amount of altered projects this past year, but couldn't quite come up with 15 pieces to share. Please visit my Tutorials Page for some great off-the-page ideas.

I have joined some new design teams and am feeling inspired. I'm looking forward to a creative year!

Jolly Holly Tag - Gecko Galz 24 Tags of Christmas

Hi! If you missed my announcement earlier this week, I'm joining the 2016 Gecko Galz Design Team! I was invited to participate in their 24 Tags of Christmas and I jumped at the chance. (Scroll to the bottom of this post for details on how to take part in the 24 Tags of Christmas Contest.) When looking through my collection of Gecko Galz Digital Collage Sheets, this cute Holly Fairy from the Flower Fairies Digital Collage Sheet, immediately caught my eye.

I pulled patterned papers and cardstock to match the color palette of the image to create the base of my tag. I used a piece of corrugated cardboard as the bottom layer of the tag to add strength. I embossed and inked a piece of green patterned paper with a holly print embossing folder to add texture to the tag. I highlighted the embossed berries with a red marker and gold dimensional paint.

I painted a piece of chipboard with white acrylic paint. While the paint was still wet, I sprinkled the chipboard with glitter. Once the chipboard was dry, I painted the leaves with green paint and added red pearls to make small clusters of holly berries.

I decided to tear the bottom of the corrugated cardstock for a rough finish. I added a fun piece of tassel trim to the bottom of the tag.

I created a frame for the image using cardstock and dies. I added texture to the top layer of the frame using a damask stencil and whipped spackle.

I added a small embellishment cluster of leaves, flowers, and berries to the side of the image. I applied white acrylic paint for a frosty finish. I applied a "joy" rub-on to the top of the digital image and glaze to the berries on the image to add dimension and shine.

I finished this tag with a double-loop bow and some bells. I just love the festive jingle this tag makes wherever it goes!

I hope I have inspired you! If you're feeling crafty and would like the chance to win a $25 Gecko Galz Shopping Spree and a surprise gift from a favorite retailer, create a project for the December Customer Challenge. The Challenge Theme this month is "Far Away Places." You have until December 30th to submit your newly created project. Stenciled and Stamped Holiday Giftwrap - Clearsnap

The ink, Art Screen and Wood Block Stamp for this project was supplied by Clearsnap.

Hi friends! I'm sharing a fun way to use ColorBox® Crafter's® Ink this holiday season for Clearsnap today. Clearsnap has just released 17 colors of ColorBox® Crafter's® Cat's Eye Ink! The small Cat's Eye pads are perfect for use with Stamps and Stencils. Just like the song, I'm wrapping the majority of my gifts this year in brown paper packaging. I'm updating the classic look with pops of color from stamped tags and stenciled designs.

I selected two fantastic shades of ColorBox® Crafter's® Cat's Eye Ink to use to embellish this gift wrap; Canyon, a fabulous vintage red, and Limelight, an exciting vibrant green. I used masking tape to cover the majority of the ColorBox® Stripes Art Screen, shrinking my stencil down to three pairs of lines. I'm not a pro at measuring or wrapping gifts, so to make things easier for myself I applied ink over the Art Screen directly onto the wrapped gift, transferring the design to my packaging. I then applied some heat to set the ink. Important Note: If applying ink to wrapped packages, please be sure that the contents are not heat sensitive! If giving delicate gifts, ink up and heat set your gift paper prior to wrapping!

Once my red stripes were set, I applied Limelight ink onto a Wish Big Wood Block Stamp and stamped onto a piece of white cardstock. After heat setting the ink, I trimmed the stamped image down to size and attached it to my gift.

I finished this package with a handmade tag and some twine.

I'm excited to give gifts with one-of-a-kind packaging this year! Be sure to check out the new shades of ColorBox® Crafter's® Cat's Eye Ink and the new Wood Block Stamps. They'd make great stocking stuffers!

Thanks for stopping by today!
