Remembrance Mini Album - Moxxie

Hi! I'm sharing a Remembrance mini album that I created for Moxxie today. I used the NEW Forever Remembered Collection for this project. This beautiful collection was designed to coordinate with the stunning Faith Collection.

I created this album to hold my favorite photos and special memories of my grandparents that have passed on. Each page of the album slides open, revealing a place for journaling. I'm a Air Force wife living far from home and that has often times kept me away from family services. This album serves as a way for me to remember my loved ones and is a place to share the words that I was not able to say in person.

I'm still working on gathering photographs to complete this project, but here is what the inside pages look like now. The Cardstock Stickers make great non-bulky embellishments for mini albums.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'll be sure to share this album again after I add the photos and journaling!

Love This Boy - Quick Quotes

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the NEW Baggage Claim collection for Quick Quotes today. I absolutely love the versatility of this line! I've created both travel themed and feminine layouts with these papers and today I'm sharing a masculine page using an everyday photo of my nephew after a haircut.

I always reach for red paper when I'm creating with photos of my nephew. The B-side of the Baggage Claim 800 had the bold color that I was looking for and a subtle dot pattern, so I used this for the base of my page. I loved the blue grid printed on the Baggage Claim 100 paper, so I carefully cut the map segments from the paper and laid the resulting grid over the page.

I wanted to add a pop of color to my page so I cut a bright yellow heart from the B-side of the Beautiful Life 100 paper. It has a similar dot pattern that complements the Baggage Claim 800 paper. I brushed the edge of the heart with Coral PowderPuff Chalking Ink, one of my new favorite colors. The edges of the rest of the patterned papers were brushed with Khaki PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

Great Fubu Arch - Couture Creations + Tando Creative Challenge

Hi! I'm sharing my last post as part of the Couture Creations Design Team today. I've had a fantastic time creating with this talented group of artists over the past year and I've really enjoyed sharing my work! I used the beautiful Great Fubu Embossing Folder from the NEW Marriot Collection on a Tando Creative Arabian Style Layered Arch Frame.

If you've never created an arch, I warn you now that they are addicting! Arch cards are a fun alternative to the artist trading card. An arch can be any size or shape, but must be created on an arch-style base. I used an Arabian-style chipboard arch as the base for this piece.

I primed the arch with gesso and then added a thin layer of molding paste.

I then opened the Great Fubu Embossing Folder and, while the molding paste was still wet, pressed the back side (raised design) of the folder onto the arch. I set the arch aside to dry overnight. Note: Clean the embossing folder immediately after use with molding paste!

I misted the arch with several shades of yellow and green spray and dried it using a heat gun.

I highlighted the debossed design with black mist. I liberally sprayed the arch with black ink and then rested the arch against the upright spray bottle to encourage the excess mist to run off. Tip: Lightly spray the arch with water the help remove more of the black mist.

I dried the arch again using a heat gun and then applied gold and orange highlights to select areas.

I used dimensional paint to accent the debossed design.

I finished this arch by adding ribbon, flowers, a sentiment sticker, purple dimensional paint (not shown) and a light coat of shimmery mist (not shown).

Canvas Mini Album - Paper Wings Productions

Mixed Media Canvas Album with Packing Tape Image Transfers by Dana Tatar for Paper Wings Productions

Hi! I'm sharing a sneak peek of a canvas album I created for Paper Wings Productions today. I created this mini album using some of my favorite techniques. I think that working with wet mediums and canvas is especially fun. I drew inspiration from several of my favorite James Bond films when deciding on images and text for my pages. I used a fun image transfer technique to create transparent embellishments from the Paper Wings Productions Clip Art Sheets for my album pages. Stop by the Paper Wings Productions Blog for my tutorial and full supply list!

Spring Flings and Easter Things - Craft-Dee BowZ

Hi! I'm sharing an Easter themed card that I created for Craft-Dee BowZ today. I chose a beautiful cardstock sticker for the focal point of my card. I embellished the sticker with a flower and added some pearl accents with a pearl pen. I die-cut a scallop edge mat for the sticker and the topped that with a beautiful double-loop bow that I tied with my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool.

I topped my bow with a bunny charm. The green die-cut that I placed under the sticker was lined in black. I mimicked that design element on the yellow cardstock to tie the design together.

There is still time to enter the March challenge! Click here for all the details.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week!

Unforgettable Moments - Quick Quotes

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created for Quick Quotes today. I used PowderPuff Chalking Ink as watercolor to tint my patterned paper. The beautiful color on the floral print paper was applied by mixing several NEW hues of PowderPuff Chalking Ink with water! To get started, gather several colors of PowderPuff Chalking Ink, a paintbrush, water and a craft mat.

Stamp the PowderPuff ink pads onto the craft mat and lightly spritz with water. Use a paint brush to add color to select areas of a piece of patterned paper. Designer Tip: Blend several shades of PowderPuff Chalking Ink to create the perfect color palette for your project. Once my ink was spritzed with water, I mixed Caribbean Blue and Soft Sage using my paintbrush, directly on my craft mat, which yielded a deeper shade of green (See Photo Below: Lower Left Corner).

I tinted the B-side of the Baggage Claim 300 patterned paper with watercolor made from Caribbean Blue, Soft Sage and Coral PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

The tags from the Die Cut Stickers fit perfectly on the tags from the Chipboard Die Cuts. I used them together here to embellish my flower cluster.

I chose a simple banner from the Chipboard Die Cuts for a title.

I'd love to see projects using PowderPuff Chalking Ink as I have done here! Please link up your work to the Quick Quotes Facebook Page. If you'd love to have $25 to spend in the Quick Quotes Store, there are 5 days left to enter the current Friday Challenge. Egg Hunt - Moxxie

Hi! I'm sharing a layout that I created with the NEW Easter-rific Collection for Moxxie today. This new Easter line is so fun! I love the bright color palette and cute little chicks! The polka dot, striped and zigzag pattered B-sides of this collection make these papers fantastic for use all year long!

I wanted to highlight the adorable chicks, so I cut portions of the eggshells and wings from a second piece of Just Hatched patterned paper and placed those cut-outs over the printed design, attaching them to my page with foam mounting tape for dimension. I embellished the scallop design with a pearl pen.

The barcode strips at the top of the patterned papers in this line are backed with the same fun patterned designs that are on the patterned papers in this collection! I used several of those strips on this page instead of just tossing them with my scraps. The green zigzag strip, purple polka dot strip and pink zigzag strip are all "bonus" pieces that I used to separate the blocks of patterned paper on my page. I used a Cardstock Sticker as a photo caption.

I used more Cardstock Stickers to embellish the top of my photo. Isn't this little bunny cute?!

Thanks for stopping by today! My fellow Muses have been busy creating with this collection the past month. Scroll down for more Easter-rific inspiration!

Easter Photo Carousel - Molossi

Easter Photo Carousel by Dana Tatar for Molossi

Hi! I'm sharing an Easter themed home decor piece that I created for Molossi today. I started with a Dusty Attic Photo Carousel and embellished it with colorful patterned paper, Manor House Creations Flowers, Molossi Sticky Bling and some Easter decorations.

Dusty Attic Photo Carousel

This is what the Dusty Attic Photo Carousel looks like assembled and unaltered. The entire piece spins 360 degrees. The two lattice pieces are stationary. The four solid panels (two are shown above) spin 360 degress.

I colored the top and bottom pieces with Vintage Photo Distress Stain. When I think about Easter, the first things that come to mind are white bonnets and baskets, so I colored the two lattice pieces with a White Acrylic Paint Dabber. I set these pieces aside to dry overnight. Note: I left the 4 spinning panels natural because they will be covered with patterned paper.

I colored some Manor House Creations Teeny Weenies Roses with Bubblegum Pink, London Blue, Lemon Zest and Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions Ink Spray.

Easter Theme Rotating Photo Panels for Dusty Attic Photo Carousel by Dana Tatar

I cut patterned paper to fit the rotating panels. I embellished 4 panels with photos of my daughters and 4 panels with vintage Easter themed clip art. I added Manor House Creations Flowers and some Easter themed embellishments from my personal stash. I finished each patterned panel with stitching and and a Viva Decor Creme Pearl Pen.

Here are the four photo panels on the assembled carousel.

Rotating each panel 180 degrees reveals the vintage clip art.

Here's a closer look at the floral clusters. The Manor House Creations Flowers in pink and purple are unaltered. The smaller yellow, pink, blue and turquoise roses are the Manor House Creations Teeny Weenie flowers that I colored with Dylusions Ink Spray.

I embellished the white lattice pieces with Manor House Creations Flowers, vine die-cuts, and a triple loop bow. Each intersecting piece of lattice is adorned with a piece of Molossi Sticky Bling.

Peter Rabbit Basket of Carrots and Eggs for Rotating Easter Photo Carousel by Dana Tatar

I had a lot of fun embellishing the top piece of this carousel! This carousel is very strong and I could have piled on a lot more weight without effecting the rotational capability of this piece. I laid down a nice blanket of artificial grass and topped that with eggs, flowers, bows and a resin bunny holding a basket of carrots.
