Elemental Tuseday with the Design Dollies

"Know Thyself"
Clear Sticker: American Crafts
Rub-On: 7 Gypsies
Brads: Making Memories
Mist: Tattered Angels
Pen: Zig
Butterfly Punch: Martha Stewart
Packaging: Prima

The Design Dollies want to see your clean and simple creations featuring beads and brads. I kept my design simple and only used embellishments to create my page. The journaling is from a favorite Chris Cornell song and reads: I train my moods to bloom like flowers unfolding instead of fluttering around. This is so true for me. Link up your projects to the Dollhouse by Monday November 29th at midnight EST to be entered in the draw to win a shopping voucher from our fabulous sponsor Steph at Scrap-A-Doodle-Doo!

Remember, you have until December 10th to submit your application for the Dollie Call! Check out all the details HERE!

Scrap Attack Scrapbooking is the November sponsor for the XOXO Girls! If you are not familiar with the XOXO Girl site and the super talented Lipstick Chicks, they are a scraplift blog with an enormous range of scrapbooking styles to choose from. I think everyone gets scrappers block from time to time and scraplifting is a wonderful way to jump start your creating.

What exactly does scraplift mean?

Basically it means copying others' completed layouts in whole or in part, for your own personal use, by adopting design elements and ideas that you like and incorporating them into your own creations. Of course everyone likes to get credit for their ideas so remember it's proper etiquette to give credit to the person you are scraplifting.

Deadline for entry is November 30th. Please make sure you visit the XOXO Girls blog to upload your submission. This contest is open to residents with a US or Canadian address and the lucky winner of this contest will win this fabulous prize valued at over $40!

I also want to wish everyone a happy Veteran's Day! Thank you to all who have served and the wives, husbands and families who have supported them!

Scrap Attack Scrapbooking November Reveal!

I had a blast working with Crate Paper's Restorations Collection this month for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. If you haven't purchased this paper line, let me just tell you it's totally fabulous in real life! I was surprised to find that one side of the paper has the fabulous Crate texture that we all love, and the other side is smooth. I LOVE this feature and was able to add some dimension to my pages just by using both sides of the paper. If you like to mix and match manufacturers on your pages like me, try adding some of October Afternoon's Thrift Shop. The blues and yellows of this line coordinated perfectly with the Restorations Collection. Or try some of the new Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Resist Papers. With a little bit of ink or mist, these papers can be transformed to any color! No layout of mine is quite complete without a little Prima thrown in and I was very lucky to have some Anna Roosevelt Fabric Flowers, a Clementine PRINCE 12" Floral Strip and a Say It In Crystals & Lace GRAY Swirls Flourish included in my kit. All of these products were new to me and something that I will be purchasing again! I hope I can inspire you to use this beautiful collection with my November layouts. Please see my {SAS}sy Design Gallery for a full list of supplies used on each layout.

Grandpa's Deer

Paper: American Crafts, Cosmo Cricket, GCD Studios, Scarlet Lime
Letter Stickers: October Afternoon
Ribbon: Prima
Journaling Stickers: October Afternoon
Miscellaneous: Snowflakes

It's getting cold outside! The Design Dollies want to see projects that include something COLD - cold water, a dip in the pool, ice, snowflakes, winter photos, and as an added twist, be sure to include SOMETHING GLITTERY on your project. My girls love taking a road trip to Grandpa's house over the holidays to see the deer. With a steady diet of corn, there are always plenty of deer in the yard! Add your link to the Dollhouse by midnight EST, Monday the 15th of November (or if you're doing the trifecta, link by midnight EST on Sunday the 14th of November) for your chance to win a $15 gift certificate to Scrap-A-Doodle-Doo!

Sweet Smile

Paper: Crate Paper, Glitz Design
Flowers: Prima
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Stickers: Basic Grey, Crate Paper
Flower Centers: Prima
Butterfly Punch: Martha Stewart
Paint: Kaisercraft

I created this page for the November Scrapbook Play Challenge at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. Who says there are rules in scrapbooking? Our {SAS}sy Scrapbook Play Challenges will help you “cut loose” and open your eyes to all the rules you follow, consciously or not. Countless objects can be used as stamps. I want you to look around your house for something you can use to make a stamped impression and use it somewhere on your layout. I used a piece of corrugated cardboard and some paint to stamp the vertical lines on my background. The {SAS}sy team would love to see what object you choose to use as a stamp. Happy scrapping!
