{SAS}sy August Reveal

I had SO MUCH FUN working with 3 Paper Trunk Collections this month with my design kit from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. Rockabilly, with a little of the Batik and Krafty Collections. The Rockabilly Collection features papers entitled "Daddy-O," "Cherry" and "Greaser," and I was inspired to scrap some vintage family photos. I even used some of the paper titles for my layouts! This line is very versatile, and I was able to scrap a variety of photos. Each Rockabilly paper is double-sided, one side with a colored pattern and the other side black and white. Mist took well to these papers and I added color to several of my pages this way. I hope you enjoy my layouts as much as I enjoyed creating them! If you would like to know what products I used on each page, just click on the title.

My father-in-law built this car from a kit! Pretty cool! The "Cherry" paper was perfect for these photos of the Avenger. I covered a Chipboard Element with paper and raised it up with adhesive foam for an extra pop.

My Kind Of Chick Flick
Kurt Russell is one of my favorite actors. What can I say, I LOVE a bad boy! The girls in this movie totally kick butt! There aren't any tears in this "chick flick!" I used some Pink Paislee Paper Tape to frame my page.

My brother with his son. I can't believe my little brother is a dad! I'm not sure who that makes old, him or me, LOL. The Paper Trunk Rockabilly Collection works very well with the Paper Trunk Batik Collection (background paper). I added color to a black & white patterned paper using mist (yellow strip).

This is one of the few photos that I have of my brother, sister and me. It was wonderful to be together at Christmas last year. I fussy cut the flowers from the Rockabilly "Ginchiest" paper. I think both the flowers and the pop of color goes well with the Paper Trunk Krafty Collection "Wallpaper" print.

This is an old photo of my Dad with one of his friends. Double trouble, LOL! The Rockabilly Embellishments are super cool and so is the packaging! I fussy cut the frame around the date from the Rockabilly Designer Flair.

A Hard Days Night
My DH working for the man. This photo was taken by one of his co-workers with his i-phone. Yep, there's an app for that! I mixed three Paper Trunk Collections for this layout. I think they work very well together.

Ladies Night
It's not often that my sister, Mom and me can enjoy a night out on the town together. We had a blast riding in a limo to eat at a favorite restaurant downtown, and then catching a show. I used the Rockabilly papers for a Christmas layout here. I also used Misty's paper tape flower tutorial from the {SAS}sy Blog Hop. Thanks Misty! :D

I couldn't use the Rockabilly Collection without creating a rock-and-roll layout! My DH with his old band in Dayton, Ohio.

I also wanted to remind you that Scrap Attack Scrapbooking has partnered with Paper Trunk to be their USA Exclusive Online Store! So, if you need Paper Trunk products, Scrap Attack Scrapbooking carries them ALL!

All 11 Collections have been added to the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Store and are priced 10-20% off everyday – no coupon needed! Great products at a great price…what could be better?

Take a Hop Through the Dollhouse!

The Design Dollies invite you to "Hop through the Dollhouse!" Join the Dollies for their first ever Blog Hop, celebrating the unique individuals that make up this dynamic team of Dolls!

If you've arrived from Chiqui's blog, then you're on the right track. If you've come across the hop by accident, you can join in by starting at the beginning at The Dollhouse and hopping to each blog in order.

You can read the bio's of the original Dollies and the current Design Team over at the Design Dollies Blog, where there are lots of fun facts, stats and trivia. You can get to know us a little better this weekend by visiting our personal blogs and checking out our "Getting to Know You" projects.

Here's mine:

I can remember my first kiss like it happened yesterday. I LOVE office supplies. I'm addicted to chocolate and reality television. Music has helped me through the tough times in my life. I milk my birthday for the entire month. I love the color black. I always sleep great on the couch. I like to eat cake for breakfast. I want to own my own business some day.

To begin your hop, start here at the

Corner of the Studio.
3. Make sure you take out your
Scissors, Paper and Pen for this DT's inspiration!
4. Next, head to the

5. And THEN, prepare yourself for some cutting edge
Nerd Scrap motivation!
6. After which, prepare yourself for
The Chronicles of Orange...

10. Wrap up your Dollhouse tour with some literary inspiration ala
Jane Austen style!

All the dolls thought it would be super fun to share a bit more about ourselves so we could all get to know each other a little better. I added some random facts about myself to my "Getting to Know You" layout. I also used my favorite color, black, and added some bling, which is always a must have! I hope you've enjoyed reading a little more about me.

If you take a glance at the Design Dollies title bar, you’ll notice that the Dollhouse has a HUGE variety of personalities, talents, and areas of interest represented just by our Dollie selection! Each Dollie pictured was selected to represent each Dollie at his or her finest. As a thank you for joining in the blog hop and visiting my blog, I'm offering a little prize! All you need to do is to leave a comment on this post, telling me which of the Dolllies on the Design Dollies header you think is mine. (I've numbered the Dollies to make selecting a Dollie easier. Please click to enlarge.) Everyone who guesses correctly will go into my draw. I'll announce the winner here on Tuesday, or you can check the Design Dollies Blog where all the lucky winners from this hop will be posted.

Blog candy: 2 packages of Tim Holtz Grungeboard and 2 Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads. If you've never tried Tim Holtz products before, you are going to LOVE them! 2nd Annual {SAS}sy Blog Hop!

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Blog Hop! If my blog is the first place you have visited, make sure you don’t miss out on any of the blogs in the {SAS}sy Blog Hop, and start at the beginning by visiting Scrap Attack Scrapbooking.

The {SAS}sy team is dedicating an entire week to showcase inspirational projects utilizing items purchased from the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Store! I LOVE this gorgeous June {SAS}sy Kit, which is one of three that debuted in June! This kit features the Scrap Within Reach Cambridge Collection with some Pink Paislee Starlight, Jillibean Soup and Little Yellow Bicycle and lots of fabulous embellishments.

Do you want a chance to win this fabulous kit?! Scrap Attack Scrapbooking is the July sponsor for the Scrapbook Challenges Community. Pamela and her talented group have several fun challenges that will help motivate you to scrap. Make sure to check them out this month. 1 lucky winner will receive this Cambridge Kit!

With the June Cambridge Kit and a couple of add-ons, I was able to create five layouts! I still have enough paper and embellishments left to make a couple of fabulous cards! Lauri's kits are such a great value for the price that I am usually able to create 5-7 layouts as well as several cards!

Every so often I like to scrap pages featuring my basset hound Scamp. Don't let his sad face fool you, he's totally spoiled! The colors and patterns in this kit were the perfect compliment for this photo. There is a regal feeling to these papers that matches Scamp's attitude, LOL! I LOVE adding flowers to my pages, but I wanted something masculine for this page. The following is a quick tutorial on how I created these layered flowers.

Supplies (For 1 Flower):
1 Piece Scrap Within Reach Cambridge "Aldridge" Cardstock
2 Prima Sprites Paper Flowers
Glue, Pencil, Scissors

1. Cut a circle from the Cambridge "Aldridge" Cardstock.
2. Place the eraser end of a pencil in the center of the cut circle and fold the paper up and around the pencil.
3. Repeat steps 1. and 2. twice more so that you have a total of 3 curled circles. Glue the 3 circles together on a piece of scrap paper.
4. Place a small amount of glue in the center of one Prima Sprite and lay the second Sprite on top, slightly off-set, so that all 10 petals are in view.
5. Place a small amount of glue in the center of the layered Sprites and adhere the flower center from step 3.
Scrap Attack Scrapbooking will be donating prizes by randomly choosing winners from all comments left on participating blogs! Please be sure to comment so you are eligible to win! As a {BONUS} there is a hidden word on each blog that can be pieced together to make a familiar {SAS}sy phrase. If you can unscramble the words to make this phrase you could win a $50 gift certificate to the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Store! For more details on the prizes, please see the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking blog.

Here is your word: Scrapper

I hope you're enjoying the {SAS}sy Blog Hop! Your next stop on the Blog Hop is Alecia. Look for her {SAS}sy Blog Hop Post on July 13th.

July {SAS}sy Reveal!

I had the pleasure of working with the new Fancy Pants "Wishful Thinking" Collection along with some Crate Paper "Paper Doll" and Pink Paislee"365 Degrees" with my July Design Kit for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. The gorgeous floral patterns were perfect for pages featuring my two girls, but I was also able to make a masculine page! For a list of products used on each layout, please see my gallery in the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Online Store.

I created this page for this week's Design Dollies Elements Challenge. The Dollies are asking you to take inspiration from music. Song selections should be predominant in your project via title or artistic influence, and should be relatively contemporary, no older than 1990, please. I was inspired by the song "Blueberry Yum Yum" by Ludacris. The song has absolutely nothing to do with blueberries, but the title is perfect, LOL. We had a ton of fun picking our own blueberries earlier this month. Now it's YOUR turn to use some tunes to inspire your creativity this week! All entries must be submitted via Mr. Linky by midnight EST on Monday July 12th to be included in this month's drawing.

I'm very excited to announce that my FAVORITE store, Scrap Attack Scrapbooking, will be sponsoring the July Elements Challenges! Scrap Attack Scrapbooking (SAS) is an online scrapbooking store & community. SAS has a wonderful store that is stocked with beautiful scrapbook supplies all at 10% off MSRP everyday – no coupon needed! SAS has a great selection of scrapbook supplies with competitive prices, fast shipping and outstanding customer service. Scrap Attack Scrapbooking also "rewards" you for shopping with them. For every dollar you spend, you are rewarded with points that can be cashed in on your next shopping visit. They also have a fun and friendly online community, creative gallery, monthly challenges, and YUMMY KITS!

SAS is also offering all friends of the Dollhouse a fabulous 25%* off MSRP on your total order! Please use coupon code: dollies to take advantage of this discount. This coupon will expire at midnight PST on 8-1-10. Enjoy!

(*25% off MSRP is calculated by taking an additional 15% off their already low 10% off prices.)

I created this page for July's Scrapbook Play Challenge at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. Who says there are rules in scrapbooking? Scrap Attack's Scrapbook Play Challenges will help you “cut loose” and open your eyes to all the rules you follow, consciously or not. Scrapbooking is all about playing with patterns, colors, textures and proportion, just like fashion! For this challenge, I was inspired by my favorite tops. I LOVE the fabric flowers. If you like to break the rules, these challenges are for you. Thanks for playing along!
